Nov. 1, 2010 - Al would like thank everyone who contributed to this CRAZY 2010 championship season. Al had this say about 2010,  "We started out driving the BK Motorsports owned Larry Shaw car and I felt like we were not headed in the right direction, so I decided to make a change.  The season started out great but had deteriorated, and I felt like we were slowly loosing the handle on the championship.  I do want to thank Bill and Billy, Jr. for providing the equipment to stay close to Brad though.  I also have to thank Al Humphrey for loaning me a car on such short notice at Corning.  I also want to thank Ronnie and Gloria Warman for allowing me to try something different for a couple of races. I really appreciate it!  This has been the craziest and probably the most rewarding of the 7 MLRA Championships that we have won.  I definitely didn't choose the shortest route to where we were headed, but we made it!  I have to thank my crew chief, Zach Simmons, for meticulously preparing our Larry Shaw race cars so we could finish every race.  I also want to thank Larry Shaw and all my sponsors for putting up with my car owner hiccups.  I especially want to thank my wife, Sabrina, and 8 month old son, Jared Allen, for putting up with me during this season and for their support in this battle."

Al would like to thank the following people for their support in 2010 and also for their loyalty to Al Purkey Racing.  "No way can we operate our race team without these people." Many of Al's sponsors have been with him for a long time so we decided to include their years of involvement with their names.

Oct. 25, 2010 - AL WINS 7TH LUCAS OIL MLRA CHAMPIONSHIP at the Bud Purkey Memorial!

Oct. 10, 2010- Al has used 3 - 3rd place finishes  and a 4th place finish in the last 4 events to re-take the Lucas Oil MLRA points lead with only 1 race remaining.  Al now leads Brad Looney by just 4 points coming into the Bud Purkey Memorial in two weeks at Mid-America Speedway, an event Al is co-promoting with Jim White.  Al had this to say about the last race, "We are now in control of own destiny.  Plain and simple, we win the Bud Purkey Memorial race and and we win the points too!  Make no mistake, we are going over there to win the race and the points will take care of themselves.  I already have 6 MLRA championships, but only one chance to win the Inaugural Bud Purkey Memorial. We are definitley going there to win the race first and the championship second, but then if we win the race, we will win the championship. Our new Hatfield powered Larry Shaw car has been performing well so I believe are chances are good and I promise you no one wants to win this race worse than me!  It should be interesting."
